My Story
I heard abouts Mark's charity, Missed A Beat, and followed it in background from NY.
I made a trip back home for Christmas in 2024, went to a local Aycliffe football match with the lads and was astounded by the passion and enthusiasm from Mark. I missed most of that match with hearing the stories, from in a shed, about the progress of this charity and felt I could contribute to this.
Being far from home has it's challenges and I found running helped ease the pain most 40 year old's go through, especially with not having the option to go for a few pints with the lads to vent the struggles.
The distances became longer and I found I was pretty good at this running stuff.
Training for a marathon takes a full dedication, pounding the pavement daily to get to the 26.2 mile goal. Hopefully one day I'll run the NYC marathon dressed as the town clock.
My goal is bring Missed a Beat to NY and the awareness of defribulators to race events.
