Fundraising in memory of Les Bowden

My Story

Every year, as part of the Blam Blam Fever Ska Weekend in Redcar, our slightly mad but big-hearted group from the Aycliffe Skankin Crew (and Friends) gathers for a tradition that’s as chilly as it is meaningful — a Dip in the North Sea for charity.

This year, as in years past, our plunge takes on a deeply personal meaning. We’re diving in with love and remembrance for our dear friend and ASC founding member, Les 'Biggles' Bowden.

Les was a passionate supporter of Missed a Beat, a charity dedicated to providing life saving defibrillators and bleed control kits. His boundless generosity, infectious enthusiasm, and unwavering belief in doing good continue to inspire us every day.

So, as we brave the icy waves once again, we’re doing it not just for the thrill — but to honour Les’s legacy and raise vital funds for a cause he held close to his heart.

❤️ Please consider supporting us — and celebrating Les’s life — by donating to our fundraising campaign.

Every contribution, big or small, helps keep his spirit alive and supports the life-saving work of Missed a Beat.

Thank you for your support — and if you’re in Redcar that morning, come cheer us on (or join us in the sea if you’re brave enough)!
